Nikon D800 Release - Will It Beat Nikon D700?

People are saying so much about the Nikon D800 out of excitement. It is being said that this yet-to-be-released gadget will make waves into the world by replacing Nikon D700. Lots of people have commented about the Nikon D800 release via their blogs, websites, and the rumors by Chinese too. It is believed that the Chinese have put some fake pictures of the DSLR cameras over the Internet, but the reality will reach the people once it is out. Nikon D700 lagged some features that Nikon D800 will be fulfilling. These technology improvements and some add-ons have been done to Nikon D800 because professional photographers had to face tough challenges at times, and there was a need to have a next gen gadget that could complete all the demands and people's wish list.

The basic speculations remain the same with Nikon D800 and it will inherit the some features of D700, but few more advancements. Nikon D800 release date will be announced somewhere in the month of August or first week of September this year.
Nikon D800 specifications are:

  • CMOS, 35.9 x 24mm, 24,600,000 effective pixels (6048 x 4032)
  • Sensor resolution of 16 mp
  • 7 frames per second continuous shooting
  • High definition video recording at Full HD 1920 x 1080 (24fps), 1280 x 720 (24fps), 640 x 424 (24fps), 320 x 216 (24fps)
  • Multi-CAM 3500FX 51 point AF
  • ISO settings ranging from ISO 200 - 12800 and extendable up to ISO 102400
Due to the above listed specs, it is being said that it is available for comparatively bigger prices and it is going to leave Nikon D700 back. The latter one is now available at discounted prices in the market and online too.
Important Revelation by Amazon

Amazon discloses that the gadget will be releasing anytime in the year 2011 and that it has two user manuals. One of its authors if from Rome and it has penned down the user guide for Nikon D700 and other models of Nikons too. It has written manual for D800 as well and both the manuals are as along as 320 pages. The manual is titled as 'Obtenez le maximum du Nikon D800' meaning 'Get the most out of your Nikon D800' and it is due to be released on March 9, 2011 and is a replacement of D700. The Nikon D800 is expected to be sold for around 2,000 and 2,500 Euros. There are leaks that the Nikon's naming structure is going to be changed. The Nikon D800 release will be a biggest challenge to the Canon 5D II successors, which itself has not been released till date.

Now, if you really want or need the greater control in the process of taking a photo what you really need is the Nikon D7000. If are you happy to let the camera do most of the work, still get great photos and save a couple of hundred dollars the Nikon D800 is a very good camera.
